No. 4 Virginia Battles NC State and Wake Forest

CHARLOTTESVILLE – No. 4 Virginia hits the road for a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis matches against NC State and No. 66 Wake Forest on Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13.
Virginia (15-4, 9-1 ACC) battles the Wolfpack (7-10, 1-9 ACC) Saturday and the Demon Deacons (11-9, 3-8 ACC) Sunday. First serve for both matches is set for 12 p.m. Live stats/video will be available at VirginiaSports.com.
Virginia, which has won six consecutive matches, is 29-9 all-time against NC State and 20-24 all-time vs. Wake Forest. The Cavaliers posted a 5-2 win against NC State and 7-0 victory against Wake Forest last season.
UVa has four ranked singles players in No. 3 Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.), No. 33 Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.), No. 45 Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) and No. 59 Rachel Pierson (Princeton, N.J.).
Elbaba, who is the reigning ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, is 14-2 at No. 1 singles and Collins is 9-5 at No. 2. Nauta, who is 14-1 in dual play, is 5-1 at No. 3 singles and Pierson is 7-0 at No. 4.
Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) is 8-6 at No. 5 singles, while Li Xi (Kunming, China), Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Marie Faure (Toulouse, France) have all seen action at No. 6.
Elbaba and Pierson are ranked No. 9 in doubles with a 7-6 dual record. Nauta and Epstein are No. 51 with an 8-4 record.
