CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The No. 5 Virginia rowing team hosts its lone home regatta of the spring, the UVa Invitational, Saturday (April 26) on Lake Monticello. Action has been moved up to an 8 a.m. start due to high winds in the forecast.
Admission to Virginia rowing home regattas is free to the public. Fans can follow race results on Twitter at @UVaRowing.
The Cavaliers’ top four boats (Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four) will be facing Michigan State in the first session and No. 17 Syracuse in the second session, which is scheduled to begin at 9:50 a.m. Virginia will also have four more eights in action against Duke and George Mason.
Following the second session, the Cavaliers will honor their senior class in a brief ceremony.
Last time out, Virginia picked up nine race wins against Michigan and Ohio State at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge April 19 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Next up, the Cavaliers will travel to Clemson, S.C., for the ACC Championships on May 16-17. Virginia has captured four consecutive conference titles and has won 13 of the 14 ACC regattas.

From East/West: Take I-64 to exit 129; go right on 616 for 6 miles. Then go right on 600 for 1.5 miles. Then go right on 618 for one mile to the Lake Monticello Gate on the left. The lake is 1/4 mile straight ahead.

From North: Take 29 south to Rt. 250 (Richmond exit). Stay on 250 to I-64 East (Richmond). Take I-64 E. to exit 129; go right on 616 for 6 miles. Then go right on 600 for 1.5 miles. Then go right on 618 for one mile to the Lake Monticello. Gate on the left. The lake is 1/4 mile straight ahead.
