CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Five Cavaliers were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Women’s Soccer team, including Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif.) as the ACC Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by Commissioner John Swofford on Tuesday (Feb. 9).

A senior forward and ACC Offensive Player of the Year, Doniak earned her fourth straight All-ACC Academic selection in addition to Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, while senior midfielder Brittany Ratcliffe (Williamstown, N.J.) was named All-ACC Academic for the second time. First-time selections included, freshman midfielder Betsy Brandon (Littleton, Colo.), senior Kristen McNabb (Montville, N.J.) and junior goalkeeper Morgan Stearns (San Antonio, Texas).

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
