Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia and Liberty announced today (May 13) the first football series between the two programs. The three-game series is scheduled for the 2018, 2019 and 2027 seasons. The first two games in the series will be held in Charlottesville while the third contest will take place in Lynchburg.

Liberty will compete as a Football Bowl Subdivision team during the 2018 season during its reclassification process. The Flames’ program will be eligible for bowl games in 2019.

The specific dates and locations for the games are listed below and subject to change:
Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 – Charlottesville, Va.
Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 – Charlottesville, Va.
Saturday, Sept. 11, 2027 – Lynchburg, Va.

To help accommodate a game between Liberty and Old Dominion in 2018, the first game in a series between the Cavaliers and ODU has been moved from 2018 to 2019. The teams will meet that season on Sept. 21 in Charlottesville. UVA’s other previously announced dates with ODU (Nov. 21, 2020 in Norfolk and Sept. 17, 2022 in Charlottesville) will remain the same.
