NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Virginia inside linebacker Micah Kiser has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week, announced the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, for games played through Sept. 16.

Kiser (Baltimore, Md.) recorded a game-high 15 tackles (seven solo), had two quarterback sacks and recovered one fumble at Virginia’s own goal line to help the Cavaliers defeat UConn, 38-18. The two sacks moved Kiser to No. 10 all-time at UVA with 19 career sacks. Kiser has 29 tackles, four sacks and one fumble recovery over UVA’s last two games.

The University of Virginia will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Kiser’s performance.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has donated more than $1.4 million to universities and charities throughout the country.

Kiser’s performance against UConn also earned him Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week and ACC Linebacker of the Week honors.
