PRINCETON, N.J – Virginia landed two boats in the top five at the Princeton Chase on Sunday (Oct. 29) on Lake Carnegie.

The Cavaliers’ Varsity Eight placed third, while UVA’s Second Varsity Eight finished fifth in the 3-mile race won by Princeton.

Princeton won the Varsity Eight race with a time of 13:57.833 to defeat runner-up Brown who came in at 14:07.507. Virginia placed third (14:09.010), Duke was fourth (14:31.702) and UVA’s Second Varsity Eight (14:28.506) placed fifth.

UVA’s Third Varsity Eight finished 13th at 14:51.670. The Cavaliers’ Fourth Varsity Eight (15:07.173) and Fifth Varsity Eight (15:36.774) placed 22nd and 38th, respectively, as Virginia had five of the top 38 boats.

Virginia concludes the 2017 fall season by hosting the Rivanna Romp on Sunday, Nov. 12. Race time on the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va., is set for 10 a.m.
