UVA Wins 10 of 12 Races at Oak Ridge Invite

OAK RIGDE, Tenn. – The Virginia rowing team won 10 of 12 races to open the 2018 season at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational Saturday (March 17) on Melton Hill Lake.
The Cavaliers won four of their six races in the morning session. UVA posted wins in the Varsity Eight (6:09.313), Third Varsity Eight (6:21.384), Fourth Varsity Eight (6:32.467) and Varsity Four (6:48.293) over crews from Miami, Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and Yale. The Cavaliers also placed second behind Yale in the Second Varsity Eight (6:18.359) and Second Varsity Four (6:57.623).
In afternoon racing, Virginia won all six of its races against crews from Miami, Notre Dame and Tulsa. The Cavaliers registered wins in the Varsity Eight (6:11.434), Second Varsity Eight (6:33.488), Third Varsity Eight (6:40.340), Fourth Varsity Eight (6:44.768), Varsity Four (7:07.756) and Second Varsity Four (7:13.441),
Racing action concludes Sunday morning (March 18) when the Cavaliers compete against Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and Yale.
