OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – The Virginia rowing team completed racing action at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational Sunday (March 18) on Melton Hill Lake.
The Cavaliers won two of their five races against crews from Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and Yale on Sunday. UVA captured 12 of 17 races overall during the two-day event, which opened the 2018 spring season.
UVA raced to first-place finishes in the Varsity Four (6:43.615) and Third Varsity Eight (6:17.355). Virginia placed second behind Michigan in the Varsity Eight at (5:57.600-6:01.652) and Second Varsity Eight (6:06.166-6:15.556). UVA was third in the Second Varsity Four at 6:59.854.
The Cavaliers return to action with an exhibition regatta against Duke on Saturday (March 24) in Durham, N.C.
