World Cup
Already having World Cup withdrawals? No worries, we’ve got another one firing up this weekend. The Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup is taking place in London, England from July 21- August 5. The U.S. Women’s National Team is ranked No. 7 in the world heading into the tournament, which is being called the biggest women’s sport event in UK history. The 18-player squad features two former Hoos in the sister act of Michelle Vittese and Tara Vittese. Michelle is playing in her second World Cup while Tara, who was named to the team this spring, is looking to add to her seven international caps. We caught up with the Vittese sisters at the USA Field Hockey training facility in Lancaster, Pa., at the send-off event this weekend where they previewed the tournament and talked about playing together on the international stage.
