FORT WORTH, Texas – Sophomore Emma Navarro competed at the ITF World Tennis Tour 25K tournament in Fort Worth, Texas this week.
On Tuesday. Navarro opened the tournament with a 6-3, 6-0 victory against Haruka Kaji of Japan. She advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Oona Orpana. She fell 6-2, 6-2 in a match against the tournament’s top seed, World No. 65 Kaia Kanepi of Spain.
Navarro, who is currently ranked No. 319 in the WTA world rankings, was the No. 6 seed in the tournament.
