CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia rowing head coach Kevin Sauer announced the Cavaliers’ 2022 schedule on Wednesday (Dec. 15). The 11-time defending Atlantic Coast Conference champions will compete in six regattas beginning with the UVA Invite on March 26 at Rivanna Reservoir.

“We are very much looking forward to an exciting and very challenging schedule in the spring of 2022 where we compete with many of the top teams in the country,” Sauer said.

Virginia hosts North Carolina, Tennessee and UCF at the UVA Invite on Saturday, March 26.

UVA travels to Columbus, Ohio, for the ACC/Big Ten Dual against Michigan and Ohio State on Saturday, April 2.

 The Cavaliers will compete in the Big Ten Invite on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17 in Sarasota, Fla. The 16-team regatta includes eight Big Ten opponents.

UVA will battle Alabama, Ohio State, SMU, UCLA and host Texas at the Longhorn Invite on Saturday, April 30.

The ACC Rowing Championships will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14 in Clemson, S.C. Virginia has won 20 of the 21 conference championships and has claimed 82 of the 90 events contested. The conference regatta features five events, including the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Third Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four.

The NCAA Championships will be held Friday-Sunday, May 27-29 in Sarasota, Fla. The Cavaliers placed fifth at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
