CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team (15-12, 4-12 ACC) opens the final week of the regular season by playing at Clemson (14-14, 5-11 ACC) on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.

  • The Cavaliers are coming off a 56-52 loss against No. 9 Duke on Sunday
  • The Duke game was the Cavaliers’ fourth game against a top-10 opponent this year and their eighth contest against a top-25 team
  • Taylor Valladay led the Cavaliers with 19 points after also leading the team with a 22-point performance against No. 22 NC State in the previous game
  • Valladay has scored in double figures in each of her last three games and is 20-of-35 from the field (57.1 percent)
  • Valladay is eighth in the ACC in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.43) and sixth in assists per game (3.8)
  • Camryn Taylor scored eight points with eight rebounds against Duke, snapping a streak of nine-straight games scoring in double figures
  • Taylor ranks seventh in the ACC in field goal percentage, making 46.4 percent of her shots
  • McKenna Dale, the lone player recognized at UVA’s Senior Day ceremony, scored 10 points with five rebounds and three blocked shots
  • Virginia is second in the ACC in rebound margin (+6.7) and three-point percentage defense, limiting opponents to 27.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc
  • The Cavaliers were 10-of-11 from the free throw line against Duke, their third time shooting better than 90.0 percent from the stripe this season. In the last six games, the Cavaliers are shooting 80.4 percent from the free throw line (70-of-87)
  • In conference games, Virginia is shooting 75.6 percent from the freethrow line, ranking third in the ACC

SCOUTING CLEMSON

  • Clemson is coming off a bye on Sunday. They dropped a close 59-54 decision last Thursday at Miami
  • Clemson is currently a game ahead of Virginia in the ACC standings at 5-11, in a tie for 10th place with Wake Forest. UVA is tied for 12th place with Georgia Tech
  • Virginia leads the all-time series 45-33 but has lost three of the last four meetings against the Tigers
  • Amari Robinson leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game
