GREENSBORO, Ga. – The No. 16 Virginia men’s golf team dropped back to eighth place following the second round of play at the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Ga. The Cavaliers shot 23-over 311 during Monday’s play for a two-day total of 598. Alabama leads the field at 6-under 570.

Junior Chris Fosdick continues to lead UVA. He shot 4-over 76 during the second round for a two-day total of 1-over 145. That places him 18th heading into Tuesday’s final round at Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Plantation.

Freshman Ben James recorded a score of 78 and fell back to 39th position at 6-over 150. Deven Patel is in 45h place at 151, Bryan Lee is 67th at 155 and George Duangmanee is 74th at 157. Pietro Bovari, competing as an individual, posted UVA’s best score of the day, shooting 1-over 73. He is in 22nd place at 147.

UVA will be paired with Chattanooga, Clemson and Arkansas for Tuesday’s final round of play. Teams will tee off starting at 9:30 a.m. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
