CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia attackman Payton Cormier has been named the ACC’s men’s lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for games played March 18-24, the conference office announced on Tuesday (March 26).

Tuesday’s announcement marks Cormier’s fifth career ACC weekly honor, including second this year.

Last week, Cormier led the Cavaliers in their pair of wins over UAlbany (March 19) and Drexel (March 23). He tallied five goals against the Great Danes and recorded six scores against the Dragons to average 5.5 goals per game for the week.

Cormier’s six goals against Drexel also propelled him into the top 10 of the NCAA Division I career goals list. With 195 career goals, Cormier is currently tied for eighth in Division I history and in sole possession of fourth on the ACC’s career goals list. He is also the only ACC player this season to record three games with at least five goals.

Up next, No. 2 Virginia (8-1) travels to No. 16 Harvard (6-2) on Saturday (March 30) for the first-ever meeting between the two teams in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Opening faceoff from Jordan Field is set for noon on ESPN+ and Northeast Sports Network (subject to blackout).
