Virginia Swimming & Diving Programs Honored for Academic Success
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the selection of its Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2024 semester today (June 25). Both the UVA men’s and women’s programs received the honor.
To qualify for the recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 563 achieved a GPA of 3.30 or above.
The 32 swimmers on the UVA women’s program combined for a 3.71 grade point average while the 33 members of the Cavaliers’ men’s team posted a 3.38 GPA.
Previously, 19 participants from the women’s program were recognized as members of the All-ACC Academic team while 16 student-athletes from the men’s squad received the same honor.
There were a total of 722 teams from 417 institutions recognized. These teams, representing a total of 17,162 student-athletes, were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the specified semester.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the nation’s first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
