FRENCH LICK, Ind. – Former Cavalier golfer Danny Walker (2015-17) earned his PGA Tour Card after finishing 28th on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour’s points list. The top 30 on the list automatically earn PGA Tour status for the 2025 season.

Walker is one of four Cavaliers with PGA Tour status joining former teammates Denny McCarthy (2012-15) and Jimmy Stanger (2014-17) as well as Ben Kohles (2009-12)

On the Korn Ferry Tour this season, Walker earned a runner-up finish at the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Woodhouse on Aug. 11. He also recorded a top-10 finish at the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron on Aug. 24, tying for 10th. He totaled 815 points this season and will be one of 23 rookies from the Korn Ferry Tour to earn PGA Tour cards. Last year, Walker came within two strokes of earning his card with a T-7 at Final State of PGA Tour Q-School in December.

As a Cavalier, Walker was a two-time Academic All-American (2017, 2018) and three-time ACC All-Academic selection. He posted 10 career top-10 finishes and had a career stroke average of 72.89 over the course of 101 collegiate rounds. His best performance came at the 2017 Palmetto Intercollegiate where he finished second after a 54-hole total of 204 that included a 64 in the final round. UVA advance to NCAA Championships all three years he was in Charlottesville, including the 2017 squad that finished 10th overall.
