WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – First year Michael Lee is 2-under (71-69) after the first 36 holes of the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary on Monday (March 23). Lee is among three Virginia golfers competing as individuals at the tournament.
Lee shot an even par 71 in the morning and came back to shoot a 2-under 69 in the afternoon. He is tied with George Williamson Jr. (St. Joseph’s PA) for fourth place and is four strokes back from overall leader, Jack Tarzy (Navy). Lee was 4-under through his first 15 holes of his afternoon round before bogeys on two of the last three holes. He had a total of nine birdies on the day, tied-for fifth most of any player in the 86-man field.
First year Alex Wells is competing in his second tournament of his collegiate career and his second round 69 helped him get into a tie for 17th place. He carded a 74 in the opening round and is 1-over for the tournament. He started his second round with birdies on five of his first seven holes.
Junior Sam O’Hara, who placed eighth at the 2024 Horseshoe Intercollegiate is 20-over (80-82).
