McCabe Millon Highlights UVA’s Four Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans

McCabe Millon was voted second-team selection, while Hausmann, Brendan Millon and Schroter garnered honorable-mention status

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia senior attackman McCabe Millon, sophomore midfielder Hudson Hausmann, freshman attackman Brendan Millon and defenseman John Schroter have been named Nike Lacrosse Media All-Americans, Inside Lacrosse announced Friday (April 3). McCabe Millon was voted a second-team selection, while Hausmann, Brendan Millon and Schroter garnered honorable-mention status.

The Nike Lacrosse Media All-Americans are selected by several voters who also vote in the weekly media poll. Voters submitted first-, second-, third- and honorable mention teams; those were tallied, with players receiving the highest vote totals sorted into teams. The honorable mention lists consist of players who did not earn enough votes to make one of the three teams but still had a significant number of votes. According to Inside Lacrosse, the Nike Lacrosse All-America list aims to honor players a more traditional-sized roster, avoiding extra numbers unless an unbreakable voting tie dictates it.

McCabe Millon leads the ACC and ranks second among all Division I players in both assists (3.40) and points (5.40) per game. He has recorded at least four points in all but one game this season. Millon set career highs in points (9) and assists (5) in UVA’s 19-14 season-opening win over Colgate (Feb. 8). During UVA’s active three-game win streak, he has recorded three assists in each contest. His third and final assist in last week’s 11-9 takedown of then-No. 1 Notre Dame tied the score at 9-9 as time expired in the third quarter.

Hausmann is UVA’s top short-stick defensive midfielder but has made an impact at both ends of the field. Through 10 games this season, he has totaled 12 ground balls, four caused turnovers and scored four goals. He notched a career-high two goals in the second half of UVA’s win over the Fighting Irish. Hausmann's second goal came in the final seconds to help seal the Cavaliers' first win over a No. 1 team since 2023.

Brendan Millon leads all Division I freshmen in assists (2.60) and points (4.80) per game, ranking sixth and 11th nationally, respectively. He and his brother, McCabe, form the ACC’s only duo averaging at least 2.60 assists and 4.80 points per game. In his collegiate debut, Brendan Millon tallied five assists against Colgate. The reigning ACC Offensive Player of the Week totaled 10 points on four goals and six assists in UVA’s 18-7 rout of Dartmouth before scoring the game-winning goal against Notre Dame five days later. His 10-point performance against the Big Green is one of eight by a Division I player this season and the only one by a freshman.

After a preseason injury sidelined him for UVA’s first two games, Schroter has returned to form in recent weeks. Over his last five games, he is averaging 2.8 caused turnovers per game. Schroter recorded a season-high four takeaways at then-No. 10 Maryland (March 14). Alongside Brendan Millon, Schroter helped UVA sweep ACC player-of-the-week honors this past week after collecting a season-high five ground balls and two caused turnovers against the Irish and holding his primary matchup without a point against Dartmouth. Schroter and the Cavaliers’ defense held both the Big Green and Irish to single-digit goals.

Up next, No. 16 Virginia (6-4, 1-0 ACC) travels to No. 7 Duke (8-1, 0-1 ACC) on Saturday (April 4) for its ACC road opener. Opening faceoff from Koskinen Stadium is scheduled for noon on ACC Network.

The Cavaliers look to snap a 20-game skid in the regular-season series with the Blue Devils, a streak that began in 2005. Duke dropped its first game of the season at No. 7 Syracuse 16-15 last Saturday (March 31).
