McCabe Millon Headlines UVA’s Eight Inside Lacrosse All-America Honorees

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Eight University of Virginia men’s lacrosse players earned Nike Lacrosse Media All-America honors, Inside Lacrosse announced Saturday afternoon (May 9). 

Virginia attackman McCabe Millon was named to the first team, while his younger brother and fellow attackman Brendan Millon was named a second-team selection. 

Additionally, Truitt Sunderland (attack), Ryan Colsey (attack/midfield), Joey Terenzi (midfield), Hudson Hausmann (midfield), Robby Hopper (long-stick midfield) and John Schroter (defense) garnered honorable mention accolades. 

UVA was one of only three teams nationwide to nab eight honorees, alongside No. 1 Princeton (9) and No. 3 Notre Dame (8).  

The Nike Lacrosse Media All-Americans are selected by a dozen voters who also vote in the weekly Media Poll. Voters submitted first-, second-, third- and honorable mention teams; those were tallied, with players receiving the highest vote totals sorted into teams. Honorable Mention players consist of players who did not earn enough votes to make one of the three teams but still had a significant number of votes. The Nike Lacrosse All-American list aims to honor players a more traditional-sized roster, avoiding extra numbers unless an unbreakable voting tie dictates it. 

Up next, No. 5 seed Virginia (10-6) hosts Georgetown (10-4) on Sunday evening (May 10) in the eighth and final first-round matchup of the NCAA Tournament. Opening faceoff from Klöckner Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU and WINA (98.9 FM/1070 AM). 

The winner of Virginia–Georgetown advances to face the winner of No. 4 seed Richmond (14-1) and Duke (9-4) in the quarterfinals at Delaware Stadium (Newark, Del.) next Sunday (May 17).
