Track Teams Compete at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Virginia track and field team was one of over 90 teams that competed in the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University. The Cavaliers faced one of the most talented fields of competition they have seen this year.
The women’s team was highlighted by Hillary Wilson (11.24m) and Libby Kluka (11.16m) who finished fourth and fifth respectively in the shot put. Leslie Satchell placed fifth in the 100 meter run with a time of (12.09) and Kim Turko posted a sixth place finish in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of (14.50). Dana Thul placed eighth in the Javelin throw with a distance of (42.19m).
The men’s 4×400 meter relay team finished third overall (2nd collegiate) with a time of (7:29.66) to highlight Virginia’s finishes.
The track and field teams will return to action on Saturday, (April 4), when the Cavaliers host the Onesty Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
