Who We Are

UVA Sport Psychology is committed to promoting mental well-being, optimal performance, and holistic wellness among student-athletes to enhance their lives.  We provide confidential, one-on-one meetings for student-athletes across all sports, creating a supportive environment that respects each individual's autonomy, privacy, and unique experiences.

We understand that student-athletes balance the demands of high-level athletic competition with rigorous academic responsibilities, leadership roles, and complex personal and social lives. Sport Psychology is present to help enhance performance in sport, the classroom, and life by applying a variety of practical psychological principles in the context of sport.

What We Do

UVA Athletics is committed to supporting the whole student-athlete by caring for every aspect of well-being. Our team includes three full-time licensed clinical staff members and one full-time postdoctoral fellow. These professionals provide mental health services and sport performance services to individuals.  In addition, Sport Psychology providers support coaches and student-athletes by providing team/event/position group meetings, consultation with staff, and outreach on sport performance and well-being topics.
