Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia junior Katie Tracy (Richmond,VA/James River) was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week forSeptember 7, 1999 after she scored the game-winner in the Cavaliers’ upsetof then-#3 Portland. It is the third time that Tracy has been named to theteam in her career and the first this season.
Tracy’s goal in the minute of play stood up as the game-winneragainst the Pilots as the Cavaliers held Portland scoreless at home.Virginia is one of only two teams to have defeated Portland more than onceat home in the 1990’s.
Last year Tracy was named to the team as her goal against Portlandstood up as the game-tying goal.
Virginia, ranked #13 in the Coaches’ poll, will face James Madisonin Harrisonburg on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 pm.
