No. 9 Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Overtime Decision To Wake Forest

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Wake Forest’s Emily Taggart sent a throughball to Joline Charlton in the 8th minute of overtime that Charltoncollected and sent into the Virginia net, giving the Demon Deacons a 1-0victory in soccer action today in Charlottesville.

After a scoreless regulation that saw the Cavaliers outshoot theDemon Deacons 10-5, Wake stepped up its offensive pressure, shooting fourtimes in the overtime period, including Charlton’s game-winner.

Wake’s Erin Regan made seven saves on the Cavaliers’ 10 shots whileher counterpart Julie Harris (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) made fivesaves for Virginia.

The Cavaliers travel to Penn State for a game against the NittanyLions on Friday night at 7:00. They will return home for the final game ofthe regular season on Sunday, Oct. 31 against the Tennessee Lady Volunteersat 1:00 pm.
