CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia softball players Beth Crimi and Stacey Zagol were named ACC Player and Pitcher of the week, respectively. The Cavaliers won three of their four ACC games played last week, with Crimi leading the Cavs, batting .333 during the week. The Middle Island, NY native scored one run and tallied one RBI as Virginia swept a pair of games over 14th ranked Florida State. The senior had three hits during the week, two of which were doubles.

Teammate Stacey Zagol, the ACC Pitcher of the Week, won both games against the Seminoles to improve her record to 16-11. The sophomore allowed Florida State only five hits and one run through 9 2/3 innings. Zagol also recorded seven strikeouts against the Seminoles. This week’s award is Zagol’s second of the year, as she garnered Pitcher of the Week honors on March 30th.

Crimi joins two other Cavaliers who have received Player of the Week awards this season. Meaghan Young won the honor on March 9th, and Karen Breshears picked up the award on March 23th.
