Virginia football is now one of the most consistently strong programs inthe country. The George Welsh era has shown that it is possible toestablish a winning tradition while keeping an institution’s values andintegrity intact. Today the Virginia football program is poised to move toa new level of competitiveness. To help make this happen, the Universityhas embarked on a campaign to expand Scott Stadium to a capacity of 60,000spectators.
On June 14, 1997, the University announced that alumnus Carl W. Smith ofCharlottesville had made the largest single monetary gift in theUniversity’s history. However, to receive these funds the gift must bematched dollar fordollar with gifts and revenues from other sources. Contributions to theCarl Smith Center Expansion Project, can be made as an unrestricted gift tothe University’s Department of Athletics. As plans are finalized in 1998,further information will be communicated. The Cavalier Suites
Available for the 2000 season, The Cavalier Suites will provide theultimate luxury for the die hard Virginia Football fan. Watch the VirginiaCavaliers march to victory in these beautifully designed suites. Each suitewill be designed forthe maximum in comfort and convenience:
