Softball Player Named ACC Pitcher of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia softball player Stacey Zagol earned a share of the ACC Pitcher of the Week award by posting four wins and a save last week for the Cavaliers. The second-year pitcher played a huge role in five of Virginia’s nine victories last week, including two wins in UVa’s championship title run in the Sports Plus Collegiate Classic (SPCC) tournament in Richmond, Va. Zagol was selected to the SPCC All-Tournament team, along with teammates Cory Bolkan, Lori Reese and tournament MVP Stacy Holmes.
Zagol’s pitching record stands at (13-7) on the season. She has an ERA of (1.38) and has recorded 130 strikeouts. Zagol has pitched two no-hitters to go along with her 17 complete games, two saves and an opponent batting average of (1.50) over her 137 innings of work.
