LAS VEGAS – The University of Virginia men’s golf team is tied with Florida for 11th place at the Las Vegas Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at the Desert Inn Country Club after two rounds. The Cavaliers shot a two-over par 290 in the first and 291 in the second round. Oklahoma State shot 12-under in the second round to overtake Georgia Tech for the lead with 557 total for 19-under par.
Virginia’s MIke Mitchell and Cameron Yancey are tied for 33rd place with 145 (+1). James Driscoll shot the second lowest round of the day on Saturday, a 69, to move up from 65th place to a tie for 42nd place (146, +2). Justin Goodhue is in a tie for 62nd place with 150 (+6) and Steve Marino is in a tie for 64th place with 151 (+7).
Matt Brost of Texas has sole possession of first place at seven-under par 137. He holds a two-stroke lead over Charles Howell and Andrea Hultman of Oklahoma State.
