CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The IWLCA Poll Committee has released thesecond week’s rankings for the NCAA Division I lacrosse field for 2000.Rankings will be released weekly on Monday afternoons.
The first five teams all stayed the same this week as they won allof their games. Some shuffling occurred in the lower half of the top 10with some mild upsets, including Loyola over Princeton 6-5. Cornell andTemple move into the polls as Cornell upset then-#15 Rutgers while Templetook then-#12 Boston University into overtime.

In games involving ranked teams this week, #1 Maryland hosts #4Virginia in a crucial ACC matchup. On Wednesday #2 Duke travels to #9Princeton. St. Patrick’s Day action includes #5 North Carolina against #12Boston University in a game played at Johns Hopkins, newcomer (in 2000) #19Temple going to #3 James Madison, and #4 Virginia travelling to HappyValley to take on #13 Penn State. The #9 Tigers also host #6 Georgetown onSaturday. On Sunday eight top-20 teams are in action against each other asthe #5 Tar Heels go to #11 George Mason, #18 William & Mary travel to the#13 Nittany Lions, #20 Old Dominion welcomes the #19 Owls, and the #3 Dukestangle with the #8 Greyhounds in Harrisonburg.

Division II Women’s Lacrosse Poll – Week 2
The IWLCA Poll Committee has released the second week’s rankings for the NCAA Division II lacrosse field for 2000.Rankings will be released weekly on Monday afternoons.
The West Chester Golden Rams, the eight-time defending PSACChampions, are at the top of the second week’s poll for 2000. The Ramsreceived some competition for the top spot by the 1998 and 1999 ECACChampion Gannon Lady Knights, who took one of the first place votes. UCDavis moves up to its highest ranking at #6 following its pair of wins lastweek, including over then-#6 Longwood.

Division III Women’s Lacrosse Poll – Week 2
The IWLCA Poll Committee has released the second weekly ranking for the NCAA Division III lacrosse field for 2000.Rankings will be released weekly on Monday afternoons.
The College of New Jersey Lions remained atop the polls for thesecond consecutive week. There was a little bit of shuffling around in thepolls as some teams were able to start their seasons. New #13Randolph-Macon made a huge jump in the polls after a four-win week whichincluded victories over then-#16 St. Mary’s and then-#20 Washington & Lee.
1999 ECAC Champion Drew moved into the polls for the first timethis season as did 1999 NCAA participant Colorado College.

The ODAC and the Capital Conferences get underway this week with acouple of conference tilts and a major non-conference one between the two,much like last week. On Wednesday #7 Mary Washington hosts #15 Roanoke in abattle of conference powers. On Friday the College of New Jersey opens the2000 season against #9 Salisbury State and poll newcomer #19 ColoradoCollege welcomes Gettysburg. #18 Franklin & Marshall takes on Washington &Lee on Saturday. On Sunday #13 Randolph-Macon travels to #15 Roanoke in abattle of the ODAC leaders.
