CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia LHP Will Parker(Suffolk, Va./Lakeland) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher ofthe Week for the week of March 13th. Parker improved his overall record to4-0 as a pitcher by going 2-0 for the week after posting wins in Virginia’s8-7 victory over Virginia Commonwealth (3/6) and UVa’s 12-4 win overEastern Michigan (3/12). For the week, he tallied 10 strikeouts afterfacing 35 batters.
Parker recorded his first career start against Eastern Michigan onMarch 12th. As of 3/15/00, he has a team-low 0.68 ERA after facing 53batters on the season. He has made five appearances as a pitcher and hasallowed only two runs (one earned) on nine hits while striking out 13batters through 13.1 innings of play.
Parker joined Georgia Tech’s Mark Teixeira on the ACC Performerlist. Teixeria was named the Player of the Week.
