CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing teamopened its spring season by winning two races over San Diego State onSaturday (March 18) at the Rivanna Reservoir.
Virginia’s second varsity eight finished with a time of 6:47.9todefeat San Diego State (6:57.3). UVa’s third varsity eight finishedthirdin the race with a time of 6:58.0.
In the first varsity eight competition, Virginia had a time of6:52.2 while San Diego State finished with a time of 7:10.0. UVa’sfirstvarsity eight is ranked second in the nation and San Diego State isranked24th.
Virginia’s next competition is on March 25th against MichiganandOhio State in Raleigh, N.C.
