CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia softball team will hostfour other teams in the 2000 UVA Hoo’s Who Tournament Friday throughSunday, March 24-26 at The Park on the North Grounds of the University ofVirginia. In addition to Virginia, Bowling Green, Penn State, Pittsburghand Rutgers are also competing in the tournament.
The Cavaliers enter the tournament with a 10-22 record, but have won two oftheir last three games. The Hoo’s Who Tournament marks UVa’s second set ofhome games of the 2000 season as they won the UVA Cavalier Classic with aperfect 4-0 record at The Park March 3-5.
Virginia opens the tournament by hosting Pittsburgh (9-10) at 12:00 noon onFriday, March 24. The Cavaliers then play Bowling Green (10-4) at 4:00p.m. on Friday. The 2:00 p.m. game on Friday features Bowling Green andPittsburgh. Penn State (12-8) and Rutgers (2-3) begin play in the UVAHoo’s Who Tournament on Saturday.
