CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior midfielder Jay Jalbert scored four goalsto lead second-ranked Virginia to a 15-3 victory over Radford Tuesdayevening in men’s lacrosse action at Klockner Stadium. The win marked theCavaliers’ sixth win in a row and improved their record to 6-1.

The four goals pushed Jalbert’s total to 99 in his Cavalier career.

Virginia (6-1) took a 4-0 lead after one quarter, but LewisRatcliff and Blaine Manning each scored for the Highlanders (1-6) in thefirst 2:30 of the second period to cut the margin to 4-2.

The Cavaliers, however, held Radford scoreless over the next 39:30while scoring 10 goals themselves.

Attackman Conor Gill scored a goal and assisted on three others forVirginia. Hanley Holcomb broke out of an early-season scoring slump withtwo goals. Freshman midfielder Chris Rotelli also scored twice for theCavaliers.

Virginia plays North Carolina Saturday in Chapel Hill at 2 p.m.
