CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia’s women’s secondvarsityeight is the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week.
UVa’s second varsity eight was recognized after winning thechampionship in that competition at the San Diego Crew Classic in SanDiego, Calif., April 1-2.
In the finals on April 2, Virginia finished with a time of6:39.5followed by Washington (6:41.3) and Michigan (6:47.1). Oregon Statefinished fourth (6:56.6), Southern California was fifth (6:57.8) andWashington State was sixth (7:05.0).
In the preliminaries on April 1, UVa won its heat with a time of7:02 followed by Washington State, Clemson, Michigan State, Orange Coastand California-Davis.
Virginia’s second varsity eight was comprised of Lauren Brown,Sarah Dondero, Jennifer Herberger, Risa Mandzuk, Lauren Mitterer, HayleyNunn, Jenny Sherman, Marina Traub and coxswain Anne Jensen.
