GREENVILLE, S.C. — Virginia senior James Driscoll fired a four-under par 68 and is in a tie for first place with Chris Wisler of East Tennessee State at the Furman Intercollegiate Tournament at the Furman University Golf Course (par 72, 6,800 yards). Virginia is holds onto second place at one under par (287) in the 19-team tournament, five strokes behind tournament leader East Tennessee State (-6, 282) after the first round.
Virginia’s Steve Marino is one-stroke behind the leaders in third place (-3) while teammates Cameron Yancey is in a tie for 15th place (+1), Mike MItchell and Justin Goodhue are in a tie for 54th place (+5).
Play resumes tomorrow in the 54-hole tournament.
