CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia’s baseball doubleheader with the Penn State Nittany Lions for Tuesday, April 11th has been cancelled due to inclement weather expected to move into the State College, Pa. area. A weather advisory has indicated that a mix of snow and ice is expected to accumulate in the State College area throughout the day on Tuesday, leading to the cancellations of both contests. The doubleheader was scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at PSU’s Beaver Field.
The Cavaliers will now prepare for their upcoming three-game Atlantic Coast Conference series with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. UVa is 17-19-1 overall, 5-7 in the ACC after winning two of three games in a weekend series at Duke. Virginia and Georgia Tech will begin play on Friday, April 14th at 7:00 p.m. and will continue competition on Saturday, April 15th at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 16th at 1:00 p.m. All three contests are scheduled to be played at Russ Chandler Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
