PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Virginia women’s rowing teamwonfive of six races against Princeton and Yale on Saturday (April 22).TheCavaliers won the second varsity four, the first novice eight, thesecondnovice eight, the first varsity four and the second varsity eight races.Virginia finished behind Princeton and Yale in a close race in the firstvarsity eight.
UVa finished with a time of 8:08.2 in the second varsity fourraceto defeat Princeton (8:12.8).
Virginia won the first novice eight competition with a time of7:13.4 followed by Princeton (7:15.8) and Yale (7:31.4).
The Cavaliers finished first in the second novice eight with atimeof 7:38.8 and Princeton was second at 7:52.1.
UVa won the first varsity four race with a time of 7:58.3followedby Princeton (8:13.1) and Virginia ‘B” (8:20.2).
The Cavaliers finished first in the second varsity eightcompetition with a time of 7:01.1 followed by Princeton (7:03.3) andYale(7:34.9).
Princeton won the first varsity eight race with a time of 6:55.3followed by Yale (6:57.4) and Virginia (6:58.8).
Virginia hosts the first Atlantic Coast Conference Women’sRowingChampionships on Saturday (April 29) at Lake Monticello. Thepreliminarycompetition begins at 9:00 a.m. with the finals scheduled to begin at1:00p.m.
