BADIN LAKE, N.C.-The Virginia men’s golf team remains in eighth place after two rounds of the ACC Tournament at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point which features a par 72, 7,102-yard layout. The Cavaliers are 22-over par (598) and 24 strokes behind first round leader N.C. State (574, -2). Georgia Tech is in second place, one stroke behind the leader.
Virginia’s Cameron Yancey shot a season-best 70 to move from 30th place to a tie for 10th place at one-over par (145). Steve Marino is tied for 24th place at four-over par (148), James Driscoll is tied for 32nd place at eight-over (152), Justin Goodhue is in 39th place at 11-over par and Mike Mitchell is tied for 44th place at 18-over.
Georgia Tech’s Bryce Molder fired a five-under 67, the low scored of the day and grabbed the individual lead by two strokes over four players-N.C. States Carl Pettersson, Wake Forest’s Jay Morgan, Clemson’s John Engler and North Carolina’s Brad Hyler who all posted three-under 141 totals.
The final round is on Sunday, April 23 and begins at 8:30 a.m.
