Charlottesville, Va. – The IWLCA Poll Committee has released theeighth week’s rankings for the NCAA Division I lacrosse field for 2000.Rankings will be released weekly on Monday afternoons.
The poll went through a shake up this week with Dartmouth becomingthe fourth team to hold the #2 ranking this season. Rutgers also moved backinto the poll and Hofstra also moved into the top-20 for the first timethis season.
The IWLCA Poll for April 24 is as follows (with current records,poll points,first place votes, and last week’s ranking)

In games involving ranked teams this week, #7 James Madison and #8Duke face each other on Tuesday. On Wednesday, six of the top-20 are inaction, including the top-ranked Terps against #3 Princeton. #19 Rutgerscelebrates its return to the poll with a game against #16 Yale on Wednesdayas well, and #9 Virginia travels to the turf of the #5 Greyhounds. The new#2 Dartmouth Big Green host a pair of ranked teams this weekend with #8Duke going to Hanover on Friday and #6 North Carolina arriving on Sunday.On Friday a battle for the state of Maryland takes place with the Terrapinstravelling to the #5 Greyhounds. Just down the road the #17 Blue Jayswelcome the #16 Elis. The #4 Hoyas travel to #15 Penn State on Saturday aswell.
