Virginia Golf Set To Tee-Off 2000 Fall Season

The University of Virginia golf team travels to East Tennessee State University (Johnson City, Tenn.) this weekend to begin the 2000 fall season. Virginia heads to the Bank of Tennessee/The Ridges Intercollegiate Golf Tournament where it finished third in 1999. The first and second rounds will be played at The Ridges Country Club golf course, located in Jonesborough, Tenn., on Saturday (Sept. 9), with the tournament concluding with 18 holes on Sunday (Sept. 10).
Virginia hopes to build on last season’s NCAA Tournament appearance. Atlantic Coast Conference members Clemson University, the University of North Carolina, and Wake Forest University join Virginia in the tournament. Also competing are Auburn University, the University of Houston, the University of North Florida, Northwestern University, the University of Oklahoma, the University of South Carolina, Southern Methodist University, the University of Tennessee, Texas Christian University, and the host school, East Tennessee State University.
