SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Former University of Virginia swimmer Ed Moses (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) advanced to the finals of the 100-meter breaststroke at the Olympic Games Saturday (September 16) with the third fastest time of the semifinals. Moses posted a time of 1:01.22 in the second semifinal heat at the Sydney International Aquatic Centre.
Moses, a third-year at Virginia, swims in the finals of the 100 breast tomorrow, Sunday, September 17. Domenico Fioravanti of Italy turned in the top time of the semifinals at 1:00.84, while current world record holder Roman Sloudnov of Russia was second in 1:01.15. Moses is third in 1:01.22.
