Virginia midfielders Lori Lindsey (Indianapolis, Ind./ Pike) and Katie Tracy (Richmond, Va./ James River), and defender Kelly Worden (Spring, Texas/ Klein) were selected to the 2000 All-Mid-Atlantic Region teams as chosen by the National Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Lindsey, a third-year and the 2000 ACC Player of the Year, made the region’s first team. She led the Cavaliers in points and goals this season with 21 and nine, respectively. Lindsey also served as one of the team’s two captains.
Fourth-year Tracy, who served as a team co-captain with Lindsey and is currently captaining the UVa women’s basketball team, earned second team honors. Tracy was a stalwart in the Cavaliers midfield, playing a team-high 1, 782 minutes on the season and notching four goals and one assist.
Meanwhile Worden, a second-year, was chosen to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team. Worden is a natural midfielder who was forced to play defense this year after injuries plagued Virginia’s back line. She played in every minute of the 19 games she appeared in this season and missed just one game due to injury.
