CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 48 University of Virginia men’s tennis team opens its 2001 home schedule Friday (Mar. 9) at 5:30 p.m. when the Cavaliers play host to American University. The match was originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Snyder Tennis Center but has been rescheduled to 5:30 and moved to the Boar’s Head Sports Club in Charlottesville.
UVa (1-1, 0-1 in the ACC) is led by senior singles player Brian Vahaly, who is the nation’s sixth-ranked singles player. Vahaly also teams with senior Huntley Montgomery to make up the nation’s top-ranked doubles pair.
Virginia will return to Snyder Tennis Center Sunday (Mar. 11) for a 1:00 p.m. date with Hampton University.
