ATHENS, Ga. – University of Virginia third-year Joe Piorkowski (Easton, Pa./Easton) and second-year Alison Sharp (Newton, Pa./Council Rock) both competed at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships in Athens, Ga. Friday afternoon (Mar. 9). Piorkowski finished 25th in the one-meter competition, while Sharp finished 39th on the three-meter board.
Piorkowski improved his 29th-place finish in 2000 for 25th. He will also compete in the three-meter competition on Saturday (Mar. 10). Piorkowski finished 26th on the three-meter board in last year’s Zone B Championships. Meanwhile, Sharp finished 39th in the women’s three-meter board after placing 33rd in the 2000 Zone B Championships.
Both Piorkowski and Sharp will conclude competition at the Zone B Championships on Saturday (Mar. 10). Piorkowski will compete in the men’s three-meter at 10: a.m., while Sharp will dive in the women’s one-meter competition also at 10:00 a.m.
