Virginia Volleyball To Host 'Hoo Spring Classic Tournament

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia volleyball team will host six college teams in the `Hoo Spring Classic Tournament on Saturday, March 24 at UVa’s Slaughter Recreation Center. Each of the seven teams in the tournament will play four matches. The tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. with the last match commencing at 5:15 p.m.
In addition to Virginia, the six other teams competing in the tournament are Georgetown, James Madison, Liberty, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia Tech and, William & Mary. Each match is the best of three games using rally scoring. Games one and two will be to 30 points and deciding third games will be to 15 points.
Virginia opens the tournament with a 9:00 a.m. match against Virginia Tech and then plays William & Mary at 11:30 a.m. In the afternoon, the Cavaliers play Georgetown at 1:30 p.m. and wrap up the tournament with a 5:15 p.m. match against James Madison.
