CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team hosts a regatta at Lake Monticello on Saturday (March 24) featuring two teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and two teams from the Big 10. At 10:00 a.m., Virginia competes against Michigan and North Carolina competes against Ohio State. At 2:00 p.m., UVa competes against Ohio State and North Carolina competes against Michigan.
In a preseason ranking by Sports Illustrated for Women, UVa was ranked fourth in the nation, Michigan sixth and Ohio State ninth.
The regatta is the second of the spring season for the Cavaliers. Last Saturday (March 17), Virginia’s varsity eight and second varsity eight defeated San Diego State at the Rivanna Reservoir.
The Virginia men’s club rowing team will also be in action at Lake Monticello on Saturday competing against North Carolina. That competition is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
