Ed Moses Finishes Sixth In Semifinals Of 200 Breaststroke At FINA World Swimming Championships

FUKUOKA, JAPAN – Former University of Virginia swimmer Ed Moses (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) has advanced to the finals of the 200-meter breaststroke after finishing sixth in the semifinals Wednesday (July 25) at the ninth FINA World Swimming Championships. In the morning preliminaries, Moses posted the fifth fastest time.
Moses clocked a time of 2:13.27 to finish sixth in the semifinals of the 200 breast. He was fifth in the preliminaries with a time of 2:13.58. Austria’s Maxim Podoprigora is the top seed entering Thursday’s final as he touched in 2:11.65, more than a half of a second faster than Japan’s Kosuke Kitajima. Kitajima finished second in 2:12.21.
Moses was third in the 100-meter breaststroke earlier in the FINA World Swimming Championships with a time of 1:00.61. He will also compete in the 50-meter breaststroke beginning on Saturday (July 28).
