Ed Moses Places Sixth In Finals Of 50 Breaststroke At FINA World Swimming Championships

FUKUOKA, JAPAN – Former University of Virginia swimmer Ed Moses (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) finished sixth in the finals of the 50-meter breaststroke Sunday (July 29) at the ninth FINA World Swimming Championships. Moses posted a time of 28.02 in the finals.
In the preliminaries of the 50-meter breaststroke on Saturday (July 28), Moses clocked a time of 27.82, which was the second fastest time of the prelims. He was third in the semifinals later in the day with a time of 27.90 before finishing sixth in the finals with a time of 28.02. Oleg Lisogor of Ukraine won the 50-meter breaststroke title with a time of 27.52. Moses holds the world record in the 50 breast with a time of 27.39 seconds set in March 2001.
Moses was third in the 100-meter breaststroke at the FINA World Swimming Championships with a time of 1:00.61. He was also sixth in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:11.38.
