Charlottesville, Va. – Tailback Antwoine Womack will undergo surgery on his right ankle head coach Al Groh announced today.
Surgical repair of a high ankle sprain suffered in the game against Wisconsin last Saturday (Aug. 25) will be performed as soon as possible after the swelling in the ankle decreases.
Womack, the ACC’s leading rusher last season, is expected to be sidelined 7-9 weeks.
