College Park, Md – Virginia keeper Emily White (Finksburg, Md./Westminster), who on Sunday helped the Cavaliers top the #1 Maryland Terrapins 3-2 in strokes, was named the ACC Field Hockey player of the week for the first time in her career. White, who made nine saves on the day, also stopped four strokes, including three in the strokeoff, to help the Cavaliers to their first-ever win over the nation’s top-ranked team.
The Cavaliers, now 6-2 (1-1 ACC) return to action on Wednesday (Oct 3) to face in-state rival William & Mary. Game time against the Tribe is 7:00 pm.
