CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia volleyball team returns home to University Hall to host Atlantic Coast Conference rivals Wake Forest and Duke on Friday and Saturday (October 5 and 6), respectively. The Cavaliers have played their last seven matches, spanning just over a month, away from University Hall.
Virginia hosts Wake Forest on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at University Hall. It marks the Cavaliers’ first home match since a 3-1 victory over Virginia Tech on September 4. UVa will then host Duke at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening.
The Cavaliers are playing their first home ACC matches of the season this weekend. UVa went 1-3 in its first four road conference contests and stands at 5-6 overall. Virginia has lost its last two matches and is coming off a 3-0 loss at Florida State on Sunday, September 30. Wake Forest enters Friday’s match with an 8-5 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the ACC. Duke is currently 11-1 overall and 3-1 in the ACC. The Blue Devils had their 11-match winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to North Carolina on Friday, September 29. Duke plays at Maryland on Friday evening.
